Short QT Syndrome

This is a very rare genetic disease of the electrical system of the heart, associated with risk of abnormal heart rhythms and sudden cardiac death.

Glossary: Channelopathy
An umbrella term for inherited conditions in which the heart's electrical ion channels malfunction despite a structurally normal heart. Includes Long QT Syndrome, Brugada Syndrome, Short QT Syndrome, and CPVT. Family screening is recommended following any diagnosis.
