A class of medication that blocks adrenaline's effects on the heart, slowing heart rate, reducing blood pressure, and suppressing arrhythmias. Widely used after cardiac arrest and in heart failure, Long QT Syndrome, HCM, and CPVT. Should not be stopped suddenly. Blunts heart rate response to exercise during cardiac rehabilitation.
