A stroke caused by disruption to the blood supply in part of the brain, leading to brain cell death. Two main types: ischaemic (clot) and haemorrhagic (bleed). Relevant to cardiac arrest survivors as atrial fibrillation and post-arrest complications can increase stroke risk. Use FAST to recognise symptoms. A medical emergency requiring immediate treatment.
