Glossary: Tilt Table Test
A diagnostic procedure that investigates unexplained blackouts by tilting a person from horizontal to near-vertical and monitoring blood pressure and heart rate. Used to diagnose vasovagal syncope, postural tachycardia syndrome, and orthostatic hypotension. Occasionally used after cardiac arrest where no arrhythmic cause has been identified.
