ARVD is a type of cardiomyopathy with no known cause. It appears to be a genetic condition (passed down through a family’s genes). ARVD causes ventricular arrhythmias

Disease of the heart that develops after birth, due to an infection or other disease affecting the heart muscle, heart valves or coronary arteries (compare with ‘Congenital Heart Disease’).
