Atrioventricular Reciprocating Tachycardia [AVRT]
Re-entry tachycardia arising from the presence of an abnormal electrical connection between atria and ventricles situated outside the atrioventricular node
Re-entry tachycardia arising from the presence of an abnormal electrical connection between atria and ventricles situated outside the atrioventricular node
A defect (hole) involving both the atrial and ventricular septums. The mitral and tricuspid valves are also abnormal.
One of the valves which control blood flow from the atriums to the ventricles, and prevent backflow. (see ‘Mitral Valve’ and ‘Tricuspid Valve’).
