On 31/08/24, I had a sudden cardiac arrest at home and was lucky to survive. After angioplasty, a stent and an ICD, I left Harefield Hospital with little NHS support and felt isolated. Sudden Cardiac Arrest UK gave me vital information and peer support during recovery. I now volunteer for Sudden Cardiac Arrest UK and The Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals Charity as my way of giving something back.
