Our primary focus is providing a learning, interaction, and socialisation forum, ensuring you feel supported and empowered throughout your journey.
In previous conferences, we have received exceptional feedback from participants who found solace in connecting with others who have experienced a similar cardiac arrest journey. It is not uncommon to feel alone or abandoned after such an event, but at the Sudden Cardiac Arrest UK Annual Conference, we aim to dispel those feelings and create a sense of belonging.
Imagine sharing your story, engaging in meaningful conversations, and learning from others who truly “get it.” Our event creates a unique opportunity to forge new friendships, find support networks, and foster a stronger sense of community. With survivors, partners, lifesavers, and family members coming together, you’ll realise that you’re not alone on this path to recovery.
Apart from the invaluable connections you’ll make, we are in the process of curating an exceptional program of educational talks and interactive sessions. These sessions are designed to provide you with the knowledge, resources, and tools necessary to enhance your recovery journey. Whether you are seeking practical advice, emotional support, or simply a space to share your experiences, the Survive and Thrive conference has something for everyone.
And, of course, you may want to let your hair down in the evening, so we will have a relaxed social environment with a buffet meal and some light entertainment.

After our first meet-up in February 2015, I realised I was not alone. It was the first time since my cardiac arrest the previous year that I had spoken face-to-face with someone who had experienced what I had. This was also true for my wife, who also happened to be my lifesaver. From that meet-up, the idea of SCA UK was born. Since then, we have achieved a considerable amount, primarily providing information, resources and support to others in a similar situation but also raising the profile of survivorship and the need for better post-discharge care. We are starting to get traction in this, and with the formation of the charity, I genuinely believe we have a bright future ahead and will make a significant difference in the lives of many who join our ranks.
